Re: Stock is an ongoing initiative from Storyblocks to make stock media more representative, authentic, and diverse. Launched in 2020, we started by commissioning artists and filmmakers from underrepresented communities to create footage collections exclusively for Storyblocks. Re: Stock was originally created in response to the demand for more inclusive stock footage and has since grown into an important cornerstone of our library.

What makes Re: Stock unique

  • Representative content: Footage is created by and features underrepresented communities.

  • Authentic storytelling: Re: Stock commissions filmmakers to craft genuine stories that capture human emotions and lived experiences — the kinds of moments that AI cannot replicate.

  • Global voices: Our contributors come from geographically and culturally diverse backgrounds, ensuring a wide range of perspectives.

  • Measured impact: Since launch, Storyblocks has achieved milestones like:

    • 20% of our “people footage” now features BIPOC models

    • We have over 25 dedicated collections from Indigenous, LGBTQIA+, and women creators

    • Over half of Storyblocks’ audio artists identify as BIPOC, with 30% identifying as female and/or LGBTQIA+

Why it matters

Re: Stock is about more than stock footage — it’s about empowering storytellers to represent their communities authentically, while giving creators everywhere access to high-quality, inclusive visuals.
