What are the specifications of your video clips?

Stock video clips in the Storyblocks library, including footage and motion backgrounds, have the following ranges for specifications:

  • Resolution: Ranges from HD (1080p) to 4K (native 4096 and UHD 3840) and up to 8K (7680)

  • Format: MP4 and MOV

  • Frame rate: Ranges from 23.98 fps to 60 fps

  • Compression: Common codecs are used, including Apple ProRes, H.264, and Motion JPEG (MJPEG)

  • Aspect ratios: 16:9 for horizontal video, 9:16 for vertical video

VR 360 footage specifications

The exception to the above is for our VR 360 video footage, which includes both stereoscopic (3D) and monoscopic (2D) formats.

  • Resolution: 4K

  • Format: MP4

  • Frame rate: Ranges from 23.98 fps to 60 fps

  • Compression: Supported codecs include H.264 and H.265 (HEVC), as well as ProRes and Cineform ProRes and Cineform

  • Aspect ratios:

    • Stereoscopic (3D): 4:1 (side-by-side) and 1:1 (top/bottom)

    • Monoscopic (2D): 2:1, 4:1, and 1:1

To see the technical specifications of any video asset in our library, click on any clip from the search results to navigate to the asset details page. Underneath the clip preview, click on the Video Details toggle to see additional specs and information. To the right of the clip, you can also see the different file versions available for download based on resolution and format.
