All of the stock audio files (both music and sound effects) in the Storyblocks library are available in two formats:
WAV – 44.1 kHz (uncompressed, lossless, high-quality audio, ideal for editing and professional use)
MP3 – 320 kbps (compressed, lossy, smaller file size, lower-quality audio, great for everyday use and fast sharing)
Which should I choose?
Choose WAV if you plan to heavily edit the audio (e.g., mixing, applying effects, or exporting multiple times). Because WAV files are uncompressed, they won’t introduce artifacts as you manipulate them.
Choose MP3 if you’re mainly using the track as background music, want something that’s universally compatible with almost all devices, or for simple playback. MP3 files save space and download faster, but repeated editing can introduce compression artifacts and reduce quality.
In short: WAV for production, MP3 for convenience.
