Are your stock images compatible with my editing software?

Our stock image assets are compatible with most editing software, but the level of compatibility depends on the file formats - we offer raster (JPG and PNG) and vector (PDF and EPS) images.

Format

Compatibility

Programs and software

Free alternative program

Raster (non-vector) images

JPG, PNG

Work with virtually all image editing programs, presentation software, and video editors

Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Photo, PowerPoint, Apple Keynote

GIMP - an open-source photo editor

Vector images

PDF, EPS

Require a vector editing program for full editing capabilities. Opening in non-vector software will usually flatten the file into a single image.

Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Affinity Designer

Inkscape - an open-source vector editor

Note: Some PDFs only contain raster content - those can usually be opened in raster programs or software, but they won’t have editable elements.

In short

  • Raster files (JPG, PNG): Universally compatible, best for quick use and simple placement.

  • Vector files (EPS, PDF): Require vector software for full editing control. Inkscape is a free alternative if you don’t use Adobe or Corel.
