How can I customize DaVinci Resolve templates?
DaVinci Resolve templates are designed to be customized so you can quickly adapt them to your own project. Most templates let you update things like text, titles, colors, logos, and placeholder media.
Customizing media placeholders
Import your own video or images into the Media Pool.
Drag your files into the placeholder areas within the template.
The template will automatically update with your media.
Editing titles and text
Go to the Titles folder in the template.
Double-click the title you want to edit to bring it into the timeline.
Select the title in the timeline, then open the Inspector (right side of the screen).
From here, you can change the text, size, font, color, and position.
Adjusting styles and layout
The Inspector lets you tweak things like bold/italic styles, spacing, and alignment.
You can also adjust positioning (X and Y movement) to fine-tune where elements sit on screen.
Some templates may allow deeper edits inside the Fusion tab, but this requires more advanced knowledge of DaVinci Resolve’s node system.
Going further (advanced users)
If you’re comfortable with DaVinci Resolve’s Fusion workspace, you can open the template there and explore the node tree to create your own macros and presets. This gives you even more flexibility, such as creating reusable custom graphics or saving personalized versions of templates.
For most users, though, customizing through the Inspector and Media Pool will cover everything you need.
