What is 4K Upscaling?

Increase the resolution of your AI Video Editor results from 720p to 4K.

Written by Christian

4K Upscaling is a feature within the AI Video Editor in the Storyblocks AI Toolkit. After you generate an edit, you can upscale it from 720p to 4K resolution, giving you a higher-resolution file for your projects.

Who can use 4K Upscaling?

4K Upscaling is available to all AI-eligible customers with access to AI Video Editor.

Will upscaling improve the quality of my video?

Upscaling increases the output resolution to 4K. It does not change the content of your edit or correct issues with the original generation. If you're not happy with how an edit turned out, we recommend generating a new edit before upscaling.

Can I still download my original 720p video?

Yes, but we recommend downloading it before you upscale. Once you upscale, the download button in the editor gives you the 4K version, even if you're on the Original tab.

If you've already upscaled, you can still download the 720p version using the link in the email we sent when your edit was first ready. Your original edit stays available during its standard 24-hour window.

Can I upscale to 1080p or 1440p?

Not at this time. 4K Upscaling supports upscaling from 720p to 4K only.

Can I choose 4K before generating my video?

Not yet. Upscaling is currently available only after your edit has been generated.

Is 4K Upscaling available for other AI Toolkit tools?

Not currently. 4K Upscaling is available only for the AI Video Editor.
